Regular biography
Professor Ivan Chi-Ho Ip is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He joined HKUST as an Assistant Professor in June 2018. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor at Kyoto University from 2015 to 2018 and as a Project Researcher at Kavli IPMU, Tokyo University from 2012 to 2015. He received his B.Sc. in Mathematics and Physics from HKUST and his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Yale University under the supervision of Igor Frenkel. His research interests include Representation Theory, Quantum Groups, Cluster Algebra, and Integrable Systems. He teaches courses such as MAED5111 Classical and Abstract Algebra and MATH1024 Honors Calculus II.
