Dr Katie Bentley is a Reader in Computer Science in the Department of Informatics at King’s College London. She is also a Group Leader of the Cellular Adaptive Behaviour Lab at the Francis Crick Institute. Her research focuses on developing agent-based simulations and other computational methods to model individual to collective cell behaviour during the growth of well-adapted structures in embryo development and abnormal, maladapted structures in diseases such as cancer and retinopathy. Her research interests include simulation of adaptive behaviour, computational biology, bio-inspired robotics, artificial life, software engineering of biological models, cell and developmental biology, blood vessel formation, eye disease, and Vaccinia Virus spread.
