About
Regular biography

Dr Samuel Cahill is a Lecturer in Chemistry Education in the Department of Chemistry at King’s College London. He graduated with an MSci in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge in 2013 before completing a DPhil in Chemistry under the supervision of Professor Christopher Schofield at the University of Oxford. During his doctoral studies, he developed an interest in teaching, both in undergraduate classes and in training new research members. From 2017, he worked as a Lecturer in Practical Chemistry and a Stipendiary Lecturer in Physical Chemistry at the University of Oxford, where he contributed to the development of their integrated undergraduate practical course. At King’s, he supports the teaching of physical chemistry in the undergraduate course and is particularly interested in methods to make physical chemistry more accessible and creating coding exercises for chemistry to introduce this increasingly important transferrable skill.
