Michaël Aklin

Michaël Aklin is Associate Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where he holds the Chair of Policy & Sustainability in the Business / Management department. He joined EPFL in 2023 and is also co-managing director of Enterprise for Society (E4S), a center jointly founded by EPFL, IMD, and the University of Lausanne. Prior to EPFL, he was Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. His research focuses on the economics and politics of sustainable and steady development and the policies to achieve it. His work has been published in interdisciplinary and specialized journals, and he has co-authored two books published by MIT Press.

Michaël Aklin is a scholar specializing in energy policy, environmental policy, public policy, political science, and economics. His research explores the political and economic dimensions of energy transitions, climate change, and public policy effectiveness.
