Dr Simon Daff is a Lecturer in Bioinorganic Chemistry at The University of Edinburgh, Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on understanding and controlling the mechanisms of redox enzymes, including mammalian NO synthases, heme-dependent monooxygenases, and protein-based electron transfer wires. His work involves studying enzyme mechanisms, enzyme electrochemistry, and the development of novel electroactive enzymes. Dr Daff employs techniques such as rapid-reaction kinetics, protein engineering, spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and X-ray crystallography. His research has been published in several scientific journals, including Biochemistry and FEBS Journal.
