Dr Benjamin E. Arenas is a Lecturer in Education at the School of Chemistry, The University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on chemistry education, including enquiry-based learning, equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in education, and the evaluation of educational approaches. He works on the design and delivery of learning activities within undergraduate and postgraduate chemistry curricula, with an emphasis on practical chemistry courses and laboratory environments. Dr Arenas collaborates with final-year project students and other education-focused academics at the University of Edinburgh and beyond. His research includes topics such as sensory overload in teaching laboratories and the impact of online assessments in chemistry education.
