Prof Andrew Mount is a member of the Chemistry department at The University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on electrochemistry, modified electrodes, biosensors, micro- and nanoelectrode arrays, and molten salts. His group develops and characterises novel electrodes and electrochemical systems, with an emphasis on micro- and nanoelectrode systems for analytical and sensing applications. Mount's work includes the fabrication of microelectrodes for high temperature environments and the investigation of selective detection or electrodeposition of metals in nuclear waste streams. He also collaborates on industrially sponsored programmes involving sustainable electrodeposition methods and computational analytical methods for electrochemical machining.
