Regular biography
Benjamin Peherstorfer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. His research focuses on computational mathematics, machine learning, computational statistics, numerical analysis, and scientific computing. Peherstorfer holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Technische Universität München, Germany, and is affiliated with the Courant Institute. His work explores topics such as computational statistics, Bayesian inference, model reduction, high-dimensional approximation, and numerical linear algebra. He is also involved in various academic activities, including organizing workshops and serving on editorial boards. His research has been recognized through invitations to present at numerous conferences and collaborations with institutions worldwide.
