Gautam Kamath

Gautam Kamath is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science department at New York University. His research interests include privacy, robustness, algorithmic statistics, and machine learning. Kamath will be joining the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU in September 2026. He previously held a Microsoft Research Fellow position at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing. Kamath earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018, advised by Costis Daskalakis. Before MIT, he studied at Cornell University, where he worked with Bobby Kleinberg. Kamath is also affiliated with the Vector Institute and holds a Canada CIFAR AI Chair.
