Bae, Myoungjean (배명진)

Myoungjean Bae is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Her research focuses on Partial Differential Equations, particularly nonlinear PDEs of mixed type arising from fluid dynamics. She is especially interested in the stability analysis of non-smooth and smooth multi-dimensional transonic flows with nonzero vorticity. Bae earned her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009 under the supervision of Mikhail Feldman. Her thesis was titled 'Potential flow and transonic shocks.' She is affiliated with KAIST, where she has been an Associate Professor since 2021. Her work contributes to the understanding of complex fluid behaviors through mathematical modeling and analysis.
