Rosa Matzkin

Rosa Liliana Matzkin is the Charles E. Davidson Distinguished Professor of Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles, in the Department of ECON. Her research focuses on econometrics and economic theory, emphasizing methods to test data consistency with economic models, identify nonparametric functions using shape restrictions, and estimate non-separable systems of equations. She has worked on models of consumer demand, discrete choice, and equilibrium. Professor Matzkin is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She has held leadership roles in the Econometric Society and the American Economic Association. She is co-editing the Handbooks in Economics series and previously served as chief Editor of Quantitative Economics. Before joining UCLA, she held faculty positions at Yale University and Northwestern University, as well as visiting positions at several other institutions.

Rosa L. Matzkin is an economist whose research focuses on nonparametric and semiparametric methods in econometrics, with an emphasis on identification and estimation in structural economic models. Her work explores nonadditive random functions, nonseparable models with endogenous regressors, and the application of nonparametric techniques to discrete choice models and consumer demand. She has contributed to the development of testable restrictions in economic theory and the analysis of heterogeneous choice. Her research also addresses the estimation of monotone and concave utility functions and the use of control functions in nonseparable simultaneous equations models. Matzkin's studies often incorporate revealed preference inequalities and statistical analysis of choice experiments and surveys.
