Stephanie van Willigenburg is a Faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at The University of British Columbia. She obtained a PhD in Mathematics from the University of St Andrews and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at York University and then Cornell University. She is currently a full professor at UBC Mathematics. Her research interests include algebraic combinatorics, combinatorial representation theory, graph theory, posets, symmetric functions and their generalizations, and tableaux combinatorics. She has contributed to the study of descent algebras of Coxeter groups, Pieri operators on posets, and the duality between peak functions and the cd-index. She is also the co-founder of the Algebraic Combinatorics Research Community, which supports research and mentorship for women in the field. Her work includes publications in journals such as JEMS and Adv. Math.
