Regular biography
Liam Watson is a Faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at The University of British Columbia. He received his PhD from Université de Québec à Montréal in 2009. Prior to joining UBC, he held positions at UCLA as Hedrick Assistant Professor, University of Glasgow as Reader in Mathematics, and Université de Sherbrooke as Canada Research Chair in low-dimensional topology. His research focuses on low-dimensional topology, particularly the understanding and application of homological invariants such as Heegaard Floer theory and Khovanov homology.
