Regular biography
Yan Alexander Wang is a Faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at The University of British Columbia. His research focuses on Quantum Chemistry, Density-Functional Theory, Computational Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Molecular Physics. He applies molecular simulation and modeling techniques to study complex systems in Materials Science, Surface/Interface Chemistry, NanoSystems/NanoMaterials, Catalysis, and Enzymology. Wang has received several awards, including the Wiley-International Journal of Quantum Chemistry (IJQC) Young Investigator Award (2007) and the Canadian National Committee for the International Union of Pure & Applied Chemistry (CNC-IUPAC) Travel Award (2005). He has served as an editor and advisory board member for various scientific journals and has organized several academic symposiums and conferences.
