Dr. William A. MacFarlane is a physicist and researcher specializing in muon spin rotation (μSR), relaxation, and resonance (μSR) techniques, as well as beta-detected nuclear magnetic resonance (β-NMR). His work focuses on understanding the microscopic dynamics of materials, particularly in the context of ionic transport, magnetic properties, and solid-state physics. He has made significant contributions to the study of lithium-ion dynamics in thin films, the behavior of muons in complex materials, and the application of β-NMR to investigate solid-state systems. Dr. MacFarlane is also involved in the development and application of advanced spectroscopic techniques to probe the structure and dynamics of materials at the atomic level. His research has been published in numerous high-impact journals and presented at international conferences, including the International Conference on Muon Spin Rotation, Relaxation and Resonance (μSR).
