Regular biography
Hua Yang is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemistry at The University of British Columbia, with a joint appointment at TRIUMF. His research focuses on radiopharmaceuticals, leveraging emerging radioisotopes for cancer diagnosis and treatment. His lab produces unconventional radionuclides and develops chelators for radiometals, with a focus on alpha-emitters like Ac-225 and imaging isotopes such as Tb-155 and Er-165. He collaborates with BC Cancer to explore peptide-based radiopharmaceuticals for various cancers. Yang also teaches a graduate-level course on Radiochemistry, Imaging, and Radiopharmaceuticals, set to launch in 2026.
