Regular biography
Yongbin YAN is a Faculty member in the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University. He holds a Ph.D. in Biology from Tsinghua University and has been a Principal Investigator since 2001. His research focuses on the structure, components, folding, assembly, physiological and pathological roles of cellular bodies such as aggresomes, inclusion bodies, and RNA granules. His work includes studying protein aggregation in conformational diseases, ribonucleases and mRNA decay, and the role of creatine kinase in intracellular energy homeostasis. He teaches courses in modern biology, biospectroscopy, and biophysics. His research has been published in several scientific journals.
