Regular biography
Anming Meng is a Faculty member in the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University. His research focuses on mechanisms controlling early embryonic development of vertebrates, primarily using zebrafish and mouse as model systems. His lab investigates cell fate determination during cleavage and blastula stages, germ layer induction, and patterning. Meng has made significant contributions to understanding the role of maternal factors in developmental processes, including the discovery of Huluwa's function in embryonic organizer formation. He has also explored the clock-like function of nuclear pore complex maturation in zygotic genome activation. Meng has served on numerous editorial boards and holds leadership positions in academic societies. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Lifetime Accomplishment Award in Zebrafish Research.
