Ying ZHANG

Ying ZHANG is an Assistant Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University, where she also serves as a Principle Investigator at the Center for Life Sciences & IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research. Her research focuses on the non-relay functions of the thalamus in cognition and mood regulation, utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach including genome editing, electrophysiology, and imaging. She has published extensively in top-tier journals such as Nature, PNAS, and Neuron, contributing to understanding thalamic roles in neurological disorders. Zhang holds a Ph.D. from Zhejiang University and completed postdoctoral training at MIT.
