Yi Lin is a Faculty member in the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University. She holds the title of Associate Professor and is affiliated with the IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research at Tsinghua University and the Peking-Tsinghua Joint Center for Life Sciences. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of bio macromolecular phase separation and its relevance to neurodegenerative diseases. She investigates the mechanisms and physiological and pathological functions of phase separation from multiple perspectives, including sequence, structure, and regulation. Her laboratory aims to decipher the molecular mechanisms underlying the formation of membrane-less organelles within cells and develop artificial interventions to regulate abnormal phase transitions in pathological states for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
