Xin LIANG is a Faculty member in the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University. He holds a Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and completed his postdoctoral training at the MPI-CBG. He has been an Associate Professor at Tsinghua University since 2015. His research focuses on understanding how molecules assemble to form a cell and how cells organize into tissues. He investigates cytoskeleton-based molecular complexes that shape cellular architecture and function during development. His work combines optical and electron microscopy with biophysical measurements, genetics, and biochemical approaches. He collaborates with theoretical physicists to integrate experimental observations with cross-scale modeling. His research includes studies on Drosophila sensory neurons and mouse neurons, as well as other cell types such as fly germ cells and cultured mammalian cells.
