Nian LIU

Nian LIU is an Associate Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University. His research focuses on transposons, also known as mobile DNA elements, and their roles in development and disease. He investigates the mechanisms of transposon regulation using both experimental and computational approaches. His work explores the impact of transposons on embryonic development, neurogenesis, and disease. Additionally, he is interested in RNA regulation and function. Liu holds a Ph.D. from The University of Chicago and completed his postdoctoral training at Stanford University. He has published extensively in top-tier journals such as Cell, Nature Genetics, and Molecular Cell. His research has been recognized with awards including the Bayer Investigator Award and the Jane Coffin Child Foundation Fellowship.
