Jinchun CHEN

Jinchun CHEN is a Faculty member in the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University. Their research interests include Industrial Microbiology and Biological Chemical Engineering, with a focus on biotransformation of chemical intermediates, synthesis, and application of new biomaterials and special macromolecular materials. CHEN has contributed to the production of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) and related polymers, including PHA copolymers consisting of 3-hydroxybutyrate and 3-hydroxyhexanoate. They have also worked on microbial production of various bioplastics and biomaterials for applications such as bone reconstruction. CHEN holds a Master's degree and has been associated with Tsinghua University since 1995, serving as an Associate Professor since 2005.
