Regular biography
Hongwei Wang is a Professor in the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University. He earned his B.S. and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology from Tsinghua University, followed by postdoctoral training at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA. He joined Tsinghua University in 2010 and served as Dean of the School of Life Sciences from 2016 to 2021. His research focuses on elucidating the architecture and mechanisms of macromolecular complexes using cryo-electron microscopy, with particular interests in methodology development for cryo-EM, nucleic acid quality control, and cytoskeleton-membrane coordination. His work has been published in leading journals such as Nature, Science, and Cell.
