Nazanin Khazra

Nazanin Khazra is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include urban economics, household finance, and applied machine learning. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, an M.Sc. from Sharif University of Technology, and a B.Sc. from the University of Tehran. Khazra has received the A&S Outstanding Teaching Award — Early Career, 2024, and the Robert E. Demerest Memorial Teaching Award, 2019. She teaches courses such as Applied Causal Machine Learning, Data Tools for Economists, and Microeconomic Theory and Applications.
