Constantin Christopoulos
Regular biography
Constantin Christopoulos is a Canada Research Chair in Seismic Resilience of Infrastructure at the University of Toronto's Department of Civil & Mineral Engineering. His research focuses on structural engineering, particularly the development of advanced high-performance structural systems to enhance the dynamic response and seismic resilience of built infrastructure. His work includes large-scale testing, finite element simulations, and the creation of new design methods for seismic-resistant systems. He is also involved in the development and commercialization of technologies through spinoff companies such as Cast Connex and Kinetica Dynamics. His research interests include self-centering seismic systems, damping technologies, and vibration-based health monitoring.
