TAN Zhi Xuan is a NUS Presidential Young Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore, with a joint appointment at the A*STAR Institute for High Performance Computing. Xuan's research focuses on scaling cooperative intelligence via rational and model-based AI, spanning areas such as probabilistic programming, model-based planning, Bayesian inference, AI alignment, and computational cognitive science. She leads the Cooperative Systems & Intelligence (CoSI) lab, aiming to reverse engineer the computational foundations of human cooperation to enable AI systems that can cooperate as proficiently as humans. Xuan holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Yale University.
