Regular biography
Tan Keng Yan, Colin is an Associate Professor (Educator Track) at the Department of Computer Science, National University of Singapore. He specializes in teaching courses related to embedded systems and operating systems, including real-time system design, operating systems, programming methodology, and software product development for digital markets. His teaching includes a course where students build production-quality software systems, with projects that have led to startups and careers in tech companies. Colin also runs courses in drone design, construction, and programming, and has developed lightweight operating systems and libraries for the Arduino. He is Lab Coordinator for Makers@SoC, a maker space that supports hands-on learning in technology and hardware.
