Mike SHOU

Dr. Mike Shou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore. He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University, where he worked under Prof. Shih-Fu Chang. Dr. Shou was a Research Scientist at Facebook AI in the Bay Area and has been recognized as a Fellow of the National Research Foundation (NRF) Singapore. His research focuses on media, computer vision, pattern recognition, multimedia analytics, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and computer vision. He has contributed to several international challenges, including ActivityNet 2017, EPIC-Kitchens 2022, Ego4D 2022 & 2023. Dr. Shou regularly serves as an Area Chair for major conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, and ACM International Conference on Multimedia.

Mike Z. Shou is a researcher specializing in Computer Vision, AR/VR, and Multimedia. His work focuses on advancing understanding of human activity through egocentric and third-person video analysis, as well as developing novel methods for text-to-video generation and temporal action localization. He has contributed to projects such as Ego4D and Ego-Exo4D, which explore human activity from first- and third-person perspectives. His research also includes multimodal understanding and generation using transformers, as well as diffusion models for image and video synthesis. Key areas of interest include temporal action detection, video-language pre-training, and audio-visual active speaker detection.
