LOW Kian Hsiang

LOW Kian Hsiang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore. He serves as Director of AI Research at AI Singapore and Deputy Director of the NUS AI Institute. His research interests include probabilistic and automated machine learning, planning under uncertainty, and multi-agent/robot systems. Dr. Low holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and has contributed to numerous conferences and journals in AI, robotics, and machine learning. He has also received several awards, including the Andrew P. Sage Best Transactions Paper Award and the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award.

Bryan Kian Hsiang Low is a researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore, focusing on Bayesian Optimization, Gaussian Processes, Federated Learning, Data-centric AI, and Data Valuation. His work explores methods for improving machine learning models through explainable variational autoencoders, collaborative learning with incentive-aware rewards, and federated Bayesian optimization. He also investigates data valuation techniques, such as volume-based approaches, and develops frameworks for efficient data fusion and active sensing in spatiotemporal modeling. His research spans both theoretical and applied aspects of AI, with an emphasis on scalability, fairness, and robustness in multi-robot systems and decentralized data processing.
