KHOO Siau Cheng

KHOO Siau Cheng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore. His research focuses on improving software developer productivity through programming languages and software engineering. He has developed static program analysis and dynamic program optimization techniques, and has expertise in code search and domain-specific language design. His work has been published in top-tier conferences such as OOPSLA, PLDI, ICSE, ASE, KDD, and ICDE. He is also Co-director of the NUS Business Analytics Centre, established in 2013 to train Business Analysts. His research areas include Programming Languages, Code analytics, Software Engineering, and Specification Mining.

Siau-Cheng Khoo's research focuses on software engineering, particularly in the areas of software specification mining, bug report retrieval, and failure detection. Their work explores methods for extracting and analyzing software behaviors to improve system reliability and maintainability. Khoo has developed approaches such as SMArTIC and QUARK, which aim to enhance the accuracy and scalability of specification mining techniques. Additionally, they have contributed to the classification of software behaviors and the mining of temporal and sequential patterns from execution traces. Their research also addresses the challenges of duplicate bug report retrieval and the synthesis of lemmas in separation logic.
