Regular biography
BIAN Yatao is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, National University of Singapore (NUS), School of Computing. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from ETH Zurich and was an Associate Fellow at the Max Planck ETH Center for Learning Systems (2015–2020). His research focuses on AI for science, including reasoning-empowered foundation models, energy-based learning, and graph machine learning. He has published in top venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, and TPAMI and has served as an Area Chair for NeurIPS and ICLR. Dr. Bian also won the National Championship in the AMD China Accelerated Computing Contest. His research aims to advance AI capabilities in scientific intelligence to address critical challenges in science.
