Yu-Cheng, Chen

Assoc Prof Yu-Cheng, Chen is an Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University, affiliated with the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Courtesy Appointment). His research interests include Optofluidics, Bio-lasers, Micro-resonators, Biophotonics, Biomedical Imaging and Biosensing, Medical Devices, Cellular and Tissue Diagnosis, Nanophotonics, Plasmonics, Nanolasers, Neurophotonics, Neural-engineering, and Novel On-chip Laser. He received an M.S. in Optoelectronics from National Taiwan University in 2012 and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2017. He joined Nanyang Technological University in 2018 upon receiving the Nanyang Assistant Professorship Award. His work focuses on developing novel bio-lasers for biomedical applications, with publications in top journals such as Nature Biomedical Engineering and ACS Nano.

YU-CHENG CHEN is an Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University, specializing in biolasers, microlasers, optofluidics, microgel, and nanobiophotonics. Their research explores biomedical applications of biological lasers, including lasing in blood and laser-emission imaging for cancer screening. Chen's work also focuses on optofluidic biosensors, such as liquid crystal-amplified sensors for protein detection and microfluidic systems for magnetic bead manipulation.
