Tay Beng Kang

Tay Beng Kang is a professor at Nanyang Technological University, affiliated with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He holds the President's Chair in Nanoelectronics and serves as Deputy Director of the CNRS-International-NTU-Thales Research Alliance (CINTRA). His research focuses on the preparation and characterization of wafer-scaled 2D materials and their heterostructures, as well as the application of 2D materials for tunneling diodes. Beng Kang Tay is a professor at Nanyang Technological University, specializing in carbon-based materials, thin films, 2D materials, carbon nanotubes, and thermal properties. His research focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application of advanced materials for energy storage, optoelectronics, and photocatalytic processes. Key projects include the development of 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), such as MoS2 and MoSe2, for high-performance field-effect transistors and photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. He also investigates the properties of carbon-based materials, including tetrahedral amorphous carbon films and graphene-based composites, for electromagnetic interference shielding and energy storage applications. His work integrates experimental and theoretical approaches to understand the electronic, optical, and thermal behavior of nanomaterials.
