Emi Nakamura is the E. Morris Cox Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on monetary and fiscal policy, business cycles, and macroeconomic measurement. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and serves on the Congressional Budget Office’s Panel of Economic Advisers. Nakamura holds a PhD from Harvard University and an A.B. from Princeton University. She previously taught at Columbia University before joining UC Berkeley in 2018.
