Wu, Bin

Assoc. Prof. Wu, Bin is an Associate Professor (NRF Investigator) at the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University. His research focuses on resolving atomic structures of helical signaling complexes involved in innate immunity and exploring structure-based repurposing of nucleic acids and protein modification enzymes for biotechnological applications. Wu was trained in structural biology at NTU and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. His work includes solving structures of various proteins and complexes, contributing to advancements in understanding innate immune signaling and enzyme engineering.

Bin Wu is an Associate Professor specializing in immunology, biochemistry, structural biology, and molecular biology. His research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of antiviral signaling, particularly the structural and functional basis of RNA sensors such as MDA5 and RIG-I. Wu's work explores how these receptors recognize viral dsRNA, form filaments, and activate downstream signaling pathways to trigger immune responses. Additionally, his research extends to the structural basis of inflammasome activation, the role of ubiquitin in antiviral signaling, and the molecular mechanisms of DNA and histone interactions. His studies also include the development of catalytically efficient recombinant proteins and the investigation of platinum-based anticancer therapeutics.
