Ma, Wei

Assoc. Prof. Ma, Wei is an Associate Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University. His research focuses on the mechanistic understanding of gene regulation in plant oil biosynthesis, with an emphasis on the role of transcription factors and their regulatory mechanisms. The Ma lab investigates the function of key regulators such as WRINKLED1 (WRI1), including its post-translational modifications, interacting partners, and regulatory domains. Additionally, the lab explores combinatorial transcriptional regulation of fatty acid biosynthesis in oil crops and the molecular mechanisms underlying seed and fruit development.
