Assistant Professor Alexander Ludwig is an Assistant Chair (Academic) in the School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University. His research focuses on epithelial cell polarity, tight junctions, and the mechanisms underlying the formation and regulation of epithelial tissue barriers. Ludwig's work explores how the Apical Junctional Complex, including the Crumbs complex, contributes to the establishment of apico-basal polarity and the maintenance of epithelial integrity.
