Regular biography
Dr. Yonggui Gao is a Full Professor and Associate Chair (Faculty) in the School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He obtained his PhD from Zhejiang University and conducted postdoctoral research at Hokkaido University (Japan) and the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology (Cambridge, UK). In 2010, he was awarded a Singapore NRF Fellowship and joined NTU to establish his laboratory. His research focuses on the structure and function of protein translation, regulation, and protein quality control, utilizing methods such as single particle cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography. His lab has published findings in prominent journals, including Sci Adv, Cell Reports, PNAS, and JBC.
