Dr. Cheung Peter is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University. His research focuses on the identification and mapping of signaling pathways involved in inflammation, particularly the mechanism of activation of TAK1, a mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase (MAPKKK). His work explores how pro-inflammatory cytokines and bacterial lipopolysaccharides activate TAK1 and its downstream pathways, such as JNK, p38α, and NFκB, which are implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases. Dr. Cheung's research also includes studies on the role of TBK1 and IKKε in Pellino 1 expression and activation.
