Thomas Roemer
Regular biography
Thomas Roemer is a Senior Lecturer in Operations Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management. He has served as the Executive Director of the Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) Program since July 2014. Roemer's research focuses on the intersection of engineering and management, particularly the value creation during the design, manufacture, and delivery of products. His work includes product development, design for manufacturing, machine scheduling, and inventory theory, which has been published in leading journals. He has taught courses in operations management, strategy, product design, quantitative analysis, and business ethics. Roemer received a Diplom-Ingenieur degree from the Technische Universität Berlin and a PhD from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
