Steven Eppinger

Steven Eppinger is the General Motors Leaders for Global Operations Professor of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management. He holds the title of Professor of Management Science and Innovation and teaches interdisciplinary courses in product design and innovation, engineering project management, and product management. Eppinger has developed an interdisciplinary product development course where students from engineering, management, and industrial design collaborate. He is coauthor of the textbook Product Design and Development, now in its eighth edition. His research focuses on improving complex technical project management, with recent work applying agile software development methods to other industries. Eppinger has also contributed to the field through his book Design Structure Matrix Methods and Applications. He has served as Deputy Dean of the MIT Sloan School of Management and chaired several interdisciplinary Master's programs.
