Sandy Pentland

Alex `Sandy’ Pentland is the Toshiba Professor of Media Arts & Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Department of BUS. He directs MIT’s Human Dynamics Laboratory and the MIT Media Lab Entrepreneurship Program, co-leads the World Economic Forum Big Data and Personal Data initiatives, and is a founding member of the Advisory Boards for Nissan, Motorola Mobility, Telefonica, and various start-up firms. His research focuses on information technology, computational social science, organizational engineering, wearable computing, image understanding, and modern biometrics.
