Lotte Bailyn

Lotte Bailyn is the T Wilson (1953) Professor of Management, Emerita at the MIT Sloan School of Management. She studies the relationship between managerial practice and employees’ lives, focusing on how institutional and organizational processes intersect with people’s lives, with an emphasis on gender and diversity in business organizations and academia. Bailyn argues that industries must consider the changing professional workforce, including the influx of women, to succeed in a competitive world. Her work highlights the complementary nature of work and personal life, advocating for equitable solutions that benefit both employees and employers. Bailyn holds a BA in mathematics from Swarthmore College and an MA and PhD in social psychology from Harvard/Radcliffe. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science.
