Hiram Samel

Hiram Samel is a Senior Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he teaches global strategy, scenario planning, and GO Lab. Prior to joining MIT, he was an Associate Professor of International Business at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and a Fellow of Lady Margaret Hall. His research spans comparative political economy, technology strategy, the economics of innovation, and labor studies. He has published on topics such as ethical consumption, labor standards in the global electronics industry, and the role of private regulation in achieving social justice. His work has been featured in publications such as The Economist and The New Yorker. Samel's current research focuses on how societies and markets apportion risk in uncertain environments.
