Harvey Michaels

Harvey Michaels is a Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan in the System Dynamics and Information Technology department. He teaches Energy Management Innovation and serves as Principal Investigator for the MIT ESI Cities and Climate Change Program. At MIT, he leads the Clean Heat Systems Dynamics Project and has participated in several energy research teams, including the Community Energy Innovations Project and the Future of the Electric Grid. He also engages in MIT campus energy planning and was coach for the MIT Better Buildings Case Competition Team. Michaels serves on the US DoE/NREL Energy Systems Integration Technical Review Panel and on advisory boards for MassEnergize and KPay. He advises government climate policymakers and was formerly involved with energy efficiency software companies and advisory roles in the energy sector. Harvey holds degrees in civil engineering and city planning from MIT.
