Daniel Freund is a Robert G. James Career Development Associate Professor in Operations Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management. His research applies optimization, stochastic modeling, and revenue management to transportation, online platforms, and humanitarian immigration. He has received several awards, including the PSOR Best Paper Award (2nd place, 2024), the MSOM Best OM Paper in OR Award (2023), and the Applied Probability Society Best Publication Award (2021). Freund holds a BSc in mathematics from the University of Warwick and an MS and PhD in applied mathematics from Cornell University, advised by David B. Shmoys.
