D Eleanor Westney

D Eleanor Westney is a Society of Sloan Fellows Professor of International Management, Emerita, affiliated with the Global Economics and Management department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on learning across borders, examining how organizational patterns from one social context are adapted in others. She has explored the internationalization of R&D, particularly firms establishing R&D centers in Japan and Japanese firms setting up offshore R&D facilities. Her work includes publications on translation ecosystems in international business and multi-level institutional change.
