Catherine Wolfram

Catherine Wolfram is the William Barton Rogers Professor in Energy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Business School. She is also a professor of Applied Economics. Her research focuses on the economics of energy markets, including rural electrification programs, energy efficiency initiatives, and the effects of environmental regulation. She has held positions at the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Energy Institute at Haas. Wolfram has published extensively on energy markets and climate policy, including work on carbon border adjustment mechanisms and oil market sanctions. She is currently involved in projects related to climate, energy, and trade. She received a PhD in economics from MIT in 1996 and an AB from Harvard in 1989.
