Anjali Sastry
Regular biography
Anjali Sastry is a Senior Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Lecturer at Harvard Medical School. Her research focuses on organizational and managerial effectiveness in complex settings, with an emphasis on healthcare delivery in resource-limited markets. Drawing on her background in system dynamics, she explores practical management approaches that integrate strategy, systems thinking, and design thinking. Sastry's work includes field studies, impact assessments, and qualitative research in collaboration with experts and practitioners in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. She is also a Principal Investigator with MIT’s Tata Center for Technology and Design, investigating health innovation in India. Her teaching innovations at MIT Sloan include the GlobalHealth Lab, which collaborates with enterprises on healthcare delivery improvements. Sastry has authored several books and articles, and her research has been published in journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly and Technology Review.
